Do it yourself issues and items often
brings disastrous results because one must be familiar with all of the laws and
what to say in order to clear items from the do it items.
The bureaus use delay and screening techniques to hinder the
process of removing inaccurate information from the reports. Unless one will
comply with FCRA it is often not enough to simply dispute an item on a
document. They have to give basis for the dispute and sometimes back it up with
do it documentation.
Do it yourself efforts books do not cover every aspect of how to
send dispute letters nor do they address changes in federal law or interpretive
letters issued by the FTC. There are many class action or enforcement lawsuits
against creditors for violations of federal consumer law. This new legal
precedent must be followed carefully and only a lawyer can provide updated
representation in these matters.
Do it yourself is the only way to go. To do it yourself, you need a
strong attorney to represent the needs of the client wishing to do it yourself.
